Professional Set Up
The set up is the process of optimising an instrument to play it's best by making adjustments at the neck, bridge, and nut. Having a professional set up can be a cost effective way of noticeably improving the playability of your guitar. Sometimes instruments are not set up properly, or to their best advantage, regardless of whether they are a brand new purchase from a store, or an older instrument, or a budget / high end instrument.
A set up will be carried to suit your playing style and the string gauge/type you use, or to your requested specification. Industry standard specifications are designed to suit the average player and are a good starting point, however these can usually be improved upon and the set up tailored to the individual player.
Standard Acoustic Guitar Set Up
This service includes truss rod (neck relief) adjustment, adjusting the action over the fretboard, lowering the saddle and adjusting it's radius if necessary, checking the action at the nut and back filing or lowering the nut as required, cleaning and oiling the fretboard, polishing the frets, and installing a new set of strings, and finally giving your guitar a clean and polish.

Standard Electric Guitar and Bass Set Up
This service includes truss rod (neck relief) adjustment, adjusting the action, radiusing the bridge saddles, checking the action at the nut and back filing or lowering the nut as required, adjusting the intonation (using a Peterson strobe tuner for accuracy), polishing the frets, cleaning and oiling the fretboard, and cleaning switches and pots as necessary. If the guitar has a tremolo, this will be balanced as required. Your instrument will be cleaned and polished, a new set of strings installed, and the pickups adjusted to the correct height for balanced volume.

Bass (4 string)- £55
Fixed Tremolo Electric (where tremolo block needs balancing) -£65
Floating Tremolo Electric -£70

NB. Servicing assumes parts and hardware function as they should (e.g.truss rod, tuners, adjustable bridges). If not, replacement parts or additional work may be required or recommended. Likewise, if the guitar requires a deep clean, there may be additional work involved.
Re-String only (excluding strings*)
Includes oiling/ cleaning the fretboard (if frets require polishing +£5)
