Marshall SupaFuzz (1968)
Designed by Gary Hurst for Marshall, this is an almost identical circuit to his Mk2 Tone Bender, but with a little more bottom end – this one may well have been manufactured by the Macaris (Sola Sound) for Marshall. It sports three Mullard OC75 germanium transistors. It sounds great. Jimi Hendrix used a Marshall Supa Fuzz, so did Pete Townshend with The Who, Jeff Beck, Iggy And The Stooges, Steve Hackett of Genesis and many more.
The Marshall Supa fuzz was made between 1966 into the early 70’s and is almost a twin of the Tone Bender MKII: both were built at the same time by Sola Sound in England. The sound of the pedals is nearly the same, though the Supa Fuzz is a bit more on the bassier side due to the larger input capacitor, especially with that 0.01µF from input to ground still in place, which cuts even more treble.
The pedal works perfect
