Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi - V5 ( 1979) - £375
Produced and sold in tandem with the V4 Op-Amp predecessor, the fifth rendition of the Big Muff series featured the same op-amp circuitry as the fourth with the addition of a tone bypass. The tone bypass allowed for a flatter equalization, more pronounced distortion, and slight decibel boost.
- Electro-Harmonix Big Muff π V5 (Op Amp Tone Bypass) 1979 USA in excellent clean condition for it's age. Tested and in good working order.
- PCB marked EH-3003. Pots stamped 137 7939, dated 1979. UA741 CP chip
- Power: 9V battery or AC power jack. Jack is 1/8" (3.5mm) plug tip positive. This is reverse polarity of typical pedals so use an E-H power supply or use a converter adaptor like the 1 Spot C35 3.5mm Converter
- Enclosure Size: 6 7/8 " x 5 1/2" x 2 1/4"(short end) x 2"(long end) / 174mm x 138mm x 35mm(short end) x 57mm(long end)
- The V5 tone bypass version and the V4 on/off switch version were made and sold simultaneously. They both share the same circuit boards and similar pot dates. GRAPHICS - Identical to the V4 Big muff, except “TONE BYPASS” was labeled on the top of these V5 units instead of "OFF ON". Years of Production: ca. 1978-1980
